Under Age Dating

Okay, I have been with this person when I was 18, he was 16. We have been together for about 6 mouths. Now he is 17 and I am 19...is this legal??

It's legal to date, it's not legal to have sex, but you know that already!

It is called "statutory rape" which means that even if he consents, it is illegal for YOU. You open yourself up to criminal charges, so think carefully before you continue.

Since he was OVER sixteen when you had "been" with him, you have no problems with the Michigan criminal law as stated below:

750.520d Criminal sexual conduct in the third degree; felony.

Sec. 520d.

(1) A person is guilty of criminal sexual conduct in the third degree if the person engages in sexual penetration with another person and if any of the following circumstances exist:

(a) That other person is at least 13 years of age and under 16 years of age.
