Fired While on Medical Leave
I was fired while on medical leave after my leave was not approved by Metlife and was not allowed FMLA paperwork as requested for an upaid leave to have surgery. Can I sue? I lost unemployment benefits and everything? The reason for firing was lack of notification yet procedure was to notify Metlife and I have letters stating they were notified. I was being treated by 2 dr's during this time who said I was out for treatment of my condition. There are many more details that put the employer in bad light and I feel I probably have a case but not sure. This is with Siemens VDO a huge company and Metlife.
