Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Michigan

I am native american but look both native and hispanic. my roommate is older than me, bald and is cherokee. we were ignored by a large-chain store while we were waiting for service. what i'm telling you is the short version that transpired on the day in question. the african american employee looked me in the eye and walked right by us, talking to a young lady who appeared to be an employee. my roommate went after him and asked him if the photo dept. was open. he told my roommate that it was and he would be there as soon as he finished his conversation with his friend! once he returned, i asked him, "you looked right at me. why didn't you wait on us? he just looked at me like i was the lowest form of life on this earth. his body language was aggressive while he was trying to find our pictures, which he claimed weren't there. his voice became louder as he explained,"I don't know why someone would tell you this!" He went on and on about this. As we left the counter, I felt ignored, (the area and the store is in a predominately african american city), discriminated against and my pride and feelings were strongly hurt. do i have a case against the store for this negative experience?
