Man (or woman) up and get your business taken care of. If you were really taking care of business, your friends would not have been able to STOP you, joke or no joke.

You can continue to not deal with things that are going on, but recognize that the consequences may be much worse than if you had dealt with it straight on.

What you can do is get a local lawyer on your side, and get some coaching about how to deal with this, even if you don't have that person represent you. For 30 minutes of their (paid) time, they can help you out a LOT.

Try the Young Lawyers of MI (you can get a referral from the bar).

Take yourself into court and ask for HELP at getting back on course. That's a lot better than getting picked up when you least want to be picked up and dealt a harsh blow for being unresponsible!

First of all, if you do turn yourself in to the court, and you do hire an attorney, the judge may have some respect for you despite failing to follow his orders. My advice is that you contact an attorney who is familiar with the court. Without knowing exactly what the convictions are, I cannot predict what the judge may do. If you want to discuss this, you may call my office. A first phone interview is free of charge.
