Legal Question in DUI Law in Michigan

Mip & dui

My friend just got a DUI this weekend and was in jail for the night. This was his first DUI but he received an MIP about a yr. and a half ago and got probation for 6 months for that. He's been off probation for a while now but what are usual consquences for this kind of a second offense in Michigan? I've found information on 2 DUI's but not on a combo of MIP & DUI. Any information you can give would be great! thx

We have been retained to represent clients in similar cases. Our clients that have been acquitted have had absolutely no consequences, no fines, no costs, no probation, no jail, etc.

Your friend should hire an experienced, tough attorney to help them through this problem.

it doesn't effect the case per we, but your friend really needs quality counsel to represent him, because jail is a possibility. Visit www.kliszlaw.com to discuss. Tim Klisz

Re: Mip & dui

It depends on his age; his road tests and BAC; the reason for the stop; his attempts at self-help (e.g. AA attendance); his attitude (with the arresting officers and in court; his attorney (if he wants one); his driving record; his judge; his prosecutor; and his probation officer,

All of these variables determine whether he gets jail time (up to 93 days) or probation.
