Legal Question in DUI Law in Michigan

OWIL First Offense

Hi I am a 20 year old full time student-athlete at The University of Michigan and I recieved a OWIL. This is my first offense and I have a clean record. I am wondering what the normal penalties are or if I will likely recieve jail time. My other concern is if there is any possible way for me to plea to change the charge; or if that has ever happened before. Maybe to an MIP? If anyone could help that would be greatly appreciated

Re: OWIL First Offense

First of all, you need to hire legal counsel - it is sometimes possible to have the charge dismissed. Second, it is possible to plea, but hardly possible to plea to an MIP. Feel free to contact me and I can give you more information at 248.569.1900.
