Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

ill attorney

my attorney is ill and cant properly perform the services my case requires. He is at this point homebound and working only 2 hours from home. She said this will continue for the next several weeks as she almost died. I need her to file for a show cause hearing and dispute summer parenting time. which needs to happen ASAP. She is not able to do this and offers no solution other than she will get to it when she is able.

What are her responsibilites to me her client? Should she be offering someone to cover for her while she is unable to perform? Or at least be providing some options other than ''I will get to it when able?''

Re: ill attorney

You should get another attorney. If you have paid the prior attorney a large retainer fee, you should get a refund. William S. Stern
