Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Child custody

My ex husband had temporary custody of our two girls ages 7 and 8. He gave custody back to me. Do we need to file it in court to make it legal?

Re: Child custody

Definitely. You need it for the schools and for your own protection. Once you have custody, if he decides to challenge your custody in the future, it becomes much more difficult for him to change custody once you are established as the custodial parent. So you should definitely amend your court papers to reflect your new situation. Feel free to contact me about your situation. Bill Stern 248-353-9400

Yes, an Order Changing Custody should be entered with the Court. John C. Talpos (248) 743-6800 (http://www.Mich-Lawyer.com)
