Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Child Custody & Visitation

I have full legal and physical custody of my child. The father has not been present in my child's life and has been in prison since Jan. 2004. Her father may be getting out soon, can I refuse to let him see my child? Since he has not had contact, but wishes to, is there any way I can abolish his parental rights and cancel child support orders? What are the chances I would win if I hired a lawyer and pushed for abolishing his rights?

Re: Child Custody & Visitation

Your question is MUCH too complex to answer on the internet. No attorney could possibly answer your questions accurately without a lot more information. I recommend that you begin by meeting with an experienced family law attorney. An initial consulation might tell you whether you should hire that lawyer to proceed with your case.
