Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Child support

My husband has two children from a previous marriage in the state of Michigan. We currently live in Tennessee and have a child of our own. The ex gets child support directly out of my husbands military medical retirement money. They have placed some type of hold on his money and say he owes 140,000 dollars in back child support. I don't understand how this is possible. They boys are 21 and 18 now and as i said, the money has automatically gone to them for all of these years. I have to file an injured spouse form each year so that my tax return isn't siezed. In order to fight this, do we need a Michigan lawyer even though we live in Tennessee? Is there anything we can do? Our own child deserves care and financial security. When will this end?

Re: Child support

In what Michigan county is the Friend of the Court claiming that your husband owes back child support? That is a very important question.
