Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Claiming the children on tax forms

In our divorce decree it states that my ex claims one child and I claim the other. For two years now she keeps claiming both, saying she forgot. I claim one as I'm supposed to. We are now being audited. How can I prevent this from happening every year?

I have nothing to hide but I'm left with all the paper work, when it clearly states that we should each claim one child?

Your attorney should bring this matter to the judge's attention. The court will assist your ex in remembering to comply with the judgment and also with fixing her past misconduct.
