Consequences of a 16 year old runaway in Michigan

I am 16 years old and I live in Mendon Michigan. I do not want to live at home but my parents won't give me consent to be emancipated. I want to ''runaway'' and live with me 18 year old boyfriend. I want to know what my consequences are if I were to runaway and if my parents can make me come home? What will happen if I continue to leave home? Also, will there be even more problems if my boyfriend is goig through legal trouble right now? Thank-you so much.

Re: Consequences of a 16 year old runaway in Michigan

The best thing you can do for yourself is recognize that you are young and inexperienced about life in general, and that your parents have your best interests in life.

If you proceed with your plan, I guarantee you will find unhappiness the likes of which you have never imagined, and will be in plenty of trouble with the police. That is no way to start your young life. An 18-year-old boyfriend with legal problems of his own is not what you need right now. Stay at home and seriously think about what kind of future you want. I seriously doubt you want the one you are talking about.

Good luck.
