Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Contempt of court

My ex-girlfriend has denied me physical and phone visitation with our daughter. She has failed to send me reports cards and medical records, which is her responsiblity. This is all in the child custody papers. I am low income and cannot afford a lawyer. I make $25 over the amount to get legal aid. Can you please tell me what forms I need to use and what documents I can submit in court. The friend of the court and other courts here will not help.

Question 2

This is a person who calls a kiss on the cheek sexual abuse. She has even called the police in both states and they did not prusue it. In fact they never notified me. She filed where she lives in a different state to take away my visitation. That is how I found out about the police investigation. The courts there said it would have to go through Michigan as that is where the child custody papers are and where all my witnesses are. I know that she will do this. How do I go about Subpoena my witnesses. They are willing to appear in court, but need one for work.

Thank you for your time.

Re: Contempt of court

I have good news and bad news. The good news is that if you have a custody order giving you joint legal custody, you are entitled to all the information you requested. The bad news is, you probably need to hire an attorney to effectively advocate your position in the family court. There is no cheap way to do this unfortunately. If you need more info., please contact me at (248)851-3171.
