Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

custody question

my soon to be ex-husband had his atty draft a divorce settlement. In it, it states mother is to get physical custody and mother/father have joint legal custody. Is there any difference between sole physical custody and physical custody. I just want to make sure the wording is correct. The word ''sole'' is not on the proposed divorce decree. Should I have my atty say ''sole physical'' ????

Re: custody question

If a judgment says "sole" physical custody, that means that only one parent has physical custody. Assuming the father is going to have some physical custody, then omitting the word "sole" is appropriate. Your divorce attorney should be able to answer any questions you have regarding the terms of your judgment.
