Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Divorce

Ex got to keep house. He was to pay me $2000 for the house by Nov. 2006. If not it was to go up for sale. But would have to take him back to court. In my divorce papers, it states that if we had to go back to court he is responsible for all legal fees. My divorce attorny did not want to take on case. Now I am stuck. I need to to know how I can get my money from him, and if he will have to pay legal fees since it states that in the divorce papers. FYI - he lost house and is now bank owned and up for sale. I still want my $2000, do I have to take him back to court? Do I have to pay another attorney? help!

Re: Divorce

You'll have to go back to court if your ex won't pay you voluntarily. You aren't required to have an attorney if you feel qualified to practice law on your own.

Re: Divorce

Unfortunately, if your ex refuses to be cooperative then your only option is to go back to court. Furthermore, unless you want to represent yourself in the matter you will need to hire a different attorney.

If you would like to discuss your options further please call us to set up a consultation. Good Luck
