Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

I am divorced with two children and my ex and I have joint physical custody. I was laid off from my job and found another opportunity in another state. However, my ex forced me to give him temporary custody of the children because he threatened to press kidnapping charges if I moved with them out of state! Now he has the children and I am waiting for a court date in Michigan to get them back. What are my chances? How can I prepare for my upcoming court date and prove that the state that I live in now (S.Carolina) is better than Michigan?

It's hard to believe that you're asking this question at this time and in this way. Didn't you have the common sense to speak with an experienced family law attorney BEFORE you made any decision and BEFORE you moved? If you have not done that already, you should do it IMMEDIATELY. You are not qualified to practice law.
