Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

My friend has been receiving aid from the state for 9yrs. he never personally filled out any paperwork, everything was done by his wife. she failed to mention their marriage,or his whereabouts.now they are seperating, she's threatned him with child support, and he's fearful that he could possibly be in some kind of trouble for welfare fraud. does he have reason for concern???

While your friend did not fill out the paperwork, he probably signed it. You are responsible for what you sign. Furthermore, if the state starts laying checks on you for nothing, you probably have some duty to return it. So ya, he has reason to be concerned.

Agreed- He is in need of legal help if this gets to the authorities. He should seek legal counsel before the police come. Tim Klisz kliszlaw.com
