Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

I gave guardianship of my daughter to my grandparents 12 years ago. 9 years ago the guardianship was modified to only one of my grandparents due to the death of the other. Now the guardian is not in good health. I have been involved in my child's life this whole time as well. When my grandfather passes away he wants to ensure that I will get my daughter back. So my question is what should we do to make sure I get her? It is all three of our wishes that she comes back to me after he passes away. Is there something else besides terminating or modifying the guardianship? I also plan to continue to let her stay there until said time as well I don't know if that makes a difference or not.

Why don't you preemptively become a co-guardian. This will give you rights with regard to decisions and give you a 'leg up' when you need to get complete guardianship. William S. Stern
