Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

My husbands parental rights were terminated 10 years ago involuntarily. The child was adopted by her stepdad and 4 years later her mom and stepdad were divorced. we went to an attorney to see if there was anything we could do and we were told no. We were just wondering if there were any updates to the law as we have a stable home and income and would like visitation of the child.
