Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

interim order

After a meeting with a mediator, my ex appealed the decision. Then a meeting with the referee, my ex failed to appear in court. The referee awarded my requests and I got an interim order. Does this order take effect now? Or do I have to wait for the judge to sign it? My ex appealled the referee's decision despite not appearing in court so I don't know if I have to wait again.

Re: interim order

If he appealed the order, then it is not in effect. Sounds like you need to retain a lawyer to assist you, perhaps mediate an agreement between you and your ex, and put this to rest. Please contact me if you want to set up an appointment next week.

Thanks.
