Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

I live in Michigan and share joint and legal custody of my 2 minor children (daughter 11 and son 14). I just discovered that the man my ex married in November (5 months ago is a convicted sex offender. He spent 16 years of a 15-30 year sentence in prison with 2 years on parole. He has completed his sentence but is still required to register quarterly until 2020. What process should I take to get full custody of my children? Is it realistic? Should I file for temporary custody while the court determines what is in the kid's best interest?

If the man poses a threat to the kids, then you should succeed in obtaining custody. She would still have visitation. You have to take immediate steps to file for change of custody. See a good lawyer. While you may not want to spend the money, it is the price you pay for sharing the kids with someone who apparently puts her own interests above that of the kids (unless the conviction was a Romeo and Juliet type of thing) or something like that.
