Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

I moved to my home state of Michigan from Nevada, where I had lived for 14 years. My husband served me divorce papers. At the final telephonic hearing, it was decided that my ex-husband was to pay me alimony for one year. That was two months ago and I have yet to receive a payment. What steps do I need to take to receive this support? We were married in Nevada.

You will need to contact the Friend of the Court in the Nevada court that handled the case. Also, review the paperwork to figure out if you will get a lump sum or periodic payments throughout the year. Welcome back to Michigan!
