Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Retainer Fee

I hired an attorney; gave him a retainer fee of $2000. He was never available to talk with and he adjourned 2 of my 3 cases, because of scheduling conflicts on his side. I fired him; am I able to get what is left over of my retainer fee, even though I signed an agreement that states it is non refundable, since he did not live up to his end of the agreement by representing me to the best of his ability???

Re: Retainer Fee

The answer is maybe. Your new attorney would be in the best position to review the contract with your prior attorney and give you advice.
