Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Hi. My name is Ricky I'm a little behind in child support.I have Two daughters that Live in Ohio that I can't see because she moved without me knowing and I really can't make consistent trips to see them even if she would let me.But yet I am always in limbo with the law cause it is hard for me to juggle paying for the Four children in my home Let alone the 2 that she took away from me.So I bet you already know by now I have the Dead beat DAD label hanging over my head for something that what I feel is beond my control.

But here's the Kicker Every Year they take all of my income tax money that could really help in getting me ahead what can I do about this is there any way I can get atleast half of It.

If your income has changed, or the mother's, then you should immediately file for a child support adjustment - likely through Ohio as that's where the children reside and, therefore, Ohio has jurisdiction over them. They will review your financial status and hers and determine if your support should be lowered. Until you are caught up on child support, then no, you cannot ask for a partial refund - it will all go towards your child support arrearage. I know that in Michigan any child support review is retroactive to the date you request it, but I'm not sure if it's the same in Ohio. In any event, you should request it immediately and go through the proper procedures.
