Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Separate Assets

My wife and I have been contemplating divorce. She went out and bought a house without my

consent or knowledge. I own my own home prior to my marriage (3yrs). She paid no mortgage or any of the household bills. We bought a 2004 vehicle together which is actually mine I drive it. We

have I child together (2yrs old). My

question is am I entitled to half of

the house that she is about to buy.

Also what about an abandonment

clause.

Re: Separate Assets

Depending on the manner which your soon to be ex-wife purchased the home you could be entitled to part of any equity value in the new home. For example, if any down payment money came from joint funds, you would be entitled to your share.

If you are truly contemplating divorce you need to meet with a competent family law attorney. We would be happy to assist you. Please give us a call to set up a free initial consultation.
