Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Hi, my name is Sheryl. I am in a custody battle with a guy I sent to jail for DV. He was already in the courts for 4th degree child abuse at the time of his arrest. After his arrest, I started dating a guy who has a criminal past. My ex-boyfriend posted bond and filed an emergency ex-parte. The judge is now telling my new boyfriend that he has to move out and giving my ex-boyfriend supervised visitations. Is there any legal rights that I have as the mother to put a halt to these proceedings?

You probably can't put a halt to the proceedings, but you should be able to respond to the allegations. The best thing to do is get a family law attorney. If you can't afford one, you at least need to show up for every court date and explain your position. Good luck.
