Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

I am a single fathere and I have unofficial legal custody of my son. His mother has pretty much given him to me, except for two months in the summer. I live in Michigan, and she lives in Lousiana, the residential jurisdiction in in Washington State. My question is I want residential jurisdiction in michigan and she is unwilling to do bring this out of Washington due to money any suggustion?

If the child has resided with you for 6 consecutive months, you can file under Michigan UCCJEA (MCL 722.1101) to have jurisdiction changed to Michigan. I suggest contacting a knowledgeable local attorney to assist you in getting the jurisdiction changed.
