Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Testing

I received a call yesterday from an old friend, she stated that her 12 year old Daughter could possibly be mine. We were together one time 12 years ago but she also said there were two other guys that could be the girl's father as well. She was dating a different guy at the time and always thought he was the father, it turns out she had him take a DNA test after all these years and he is not the girls father. The Mother is married with other kids and we have always kept in touch throughout the years since we were good friends. That is the story my question is am I obligated to take a DNA test by law or can I refuse to take it, This was 12 years ago and the mother is not asking me for anything just wants to get clarification after all of these years. I on the other hand am not married have no kids and don't really know how I feel about having this bomb dropped on me after all these years. I need to know what my rights are and if I decide not to go through with this am I going against the laws of the united states. I live in Florida now but everything took place in Michigan.

Thank you!
