Legal Question in Medical Leave in Michigan

Returning to work after a FMLA leave

Can an employer require an employee to return to work after the 12-week leave period if his/her doctor has not released the employee for full-time work, i.e. employee has only been released for 2 hours per day on volunteer status?

Generally, yes. I am not licensed in your state. So, I can't advise you on any state claims you may have. Contact a lawyer immediately. If you have trouble finding one, just yell. Of course, in order to receive legal advice you can use, you should have a personal interview with a lawyer. The comments I have made are general and may or may not apply to your situation.
