Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan

I'm looking to appeal in front of a small claims judge but the defendant disconnected his phone. I have an email and he isn't responding to that either. I also have is home address. This is my first time having to take legal action against someone... do I notify the police or personally drive to his house to have him sign the forms necessary to go to court? Thanks for the help!!

I assume you are trying to file the Small Claims suit. If so, you file it, pay the Court officer to serve the Defendant and show up for your hearing. You don't need them to sign anything. Tim Klisz kliszlaw.com
