Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan

Case Citation - Published vs Unpublished

Is citing an ''unpublished'' case accepted in Michigan Courts or must you use only ''published'' cases? If I've been able to research it online (which I have done) and have read the entire case, is it still considered ''unpublished''? Thanks in advance.

Re: Case Citation - Published vs Unpublished

You can cite an unpublished case, but you are required to attach a copy of the opinion to the pleading you are filing (pursuant to the court rules). Unpublished cases are NOT binding authority, however, most courts follow them, although they are not required to.

Thanks.
