Golf cart damage liability?

I rolled a golf cart that I never signed for while following the posted 90 degree rule. I was in the rough on a very sharp hill that the manager of the course said ''should have been roped off.'' Am i responsible for the damages? The course says they will take me to small claims court for the $1,000.00. What can I do?

First of all, the golf course is most likely a corporation so they have to have a lawyer represent them in court. Lawyers are not allowed in small claims court. Second, go to the course and take pictures of the scene. Then if they sue, explain your position to the judge. William S. Stern
