Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan

Liability after co-habitation (updated)

I wrote a question titled ''Liability after Co-habitation'' a couple of weeks ago. I would like to ask the question, in a different way. My boyfriend and I were living together for unde a year. During that time he quit his job to attend school. While I worked more than he did, he brought in more income. He cashed out his 401K ($16,000), took out a cred card ($10,000) and won money in poker (around $15,000). Now that it is over and there are outstanding bills, he wants half of the bills that are outstanding. He claims that his $10,000 credit card (which i am no on or an authorized user) was used to pay living expenses. He wants me to pay half of that. Plus he wants me to pay half of the other house bills that are outsanding. My name is not on anything- electricity, gas, water, mortgage. The only thing my name was on was trash- which we changed to his name this week. Am i liable for outstanding house bills/living expenses while were together even though my name is not on any of the bills? He wanted me to restate the question stating that he wants ''half of outstanding the outsandin bills'' instead of ''half of living expenses while together''....

Re: Liability after co-habitation (updated)

It is possible that you would liable for some of the expenses that would be considered living expenses. However, if you have been paying the amount you agreed upon initially, you would likely not be liable. Ideally, you can resolve this between yourselves by being fair and realistic. Otherwise, you will need to let a court review the facts and determine who is responsible for the various outstanding bills.
