Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan

I was pulled over last night for turning right at a red without making a complete stop. i was given a ticket for "disobeying a traffic control device." I also, do not have auto insurance. He gave me another ticket for no proof of insurance. The car is not under my name, it is my fathers. We plan to get auto insurance this afternoon, however that doesn't prove i had it last night. I am very concerned about the penalty for this. I am 18, and have been driving for over two years. I have never been pulled over before. Will I have to go to court for either of these offenses? If so, do i need a lawyer.

Please help me.
