Legal Question in Immigration Law in Michigan

i have to pay US$7000.00 to my past employer. now the organization is closed. employer is asking money to transfer to his personnel account,and he is threatening me that he is going to complaint about my immigration officer to cancel my status. whom should i pay? if i don't pay does it effects my immigration status?
