Legal Question in International Law in Michigan

Israel - USA

Is decision of the Israeli court obligated for the USA? The verdict of this divorce was approved while I wasn't presented in the court. I have been still working in the USA. Now I have to pay highest amount per month for the child care. Can a person using this verdict to collect my money in the USA and arrest my bank account in the USA?

Re: Israel - USA

Are you saying you were not present in the court in Israel? If that is the case and the judgement is legal (that depends on Israeli law as to whether your appearance is required or not) then that judgment would probably need to be confirmed in a court in the U.S. in order for the verdict to be valid in the U.S. There might be some exceptions and you might be able to challenge the verdict in Israel but a lot more info would be needed to make that determination.
