Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in Michigan

Legal Age of Hotels?

What would be the minimum age for a person to get a hotel room in Michigan? Do you have to be 16 and have a credit card? Thanks.

Re: Legal Age of Hotels?

You must be 18 years old to create a contract of any kind. And signing a hotel//motel registration application, saying that you will pay $___ for a room for ___ nights, etc. is a contract. Further, you can't get a credit card in your name until you are 18. (Same rationale.) So the hotel just might wonder how you have permission or authority to use this credit card.

You have to 18, although several hotels requires you to be 21.
