Legal Question in Employment Law in Michigan

Hello

I was recently let go from my place of employment. When I received the phone call with the horrible news I was on my 6 weeks maternity leave. I had only been employed with the company 9 months, and never filled out any sort of paperwork before taking my leave. The company did however have at least a 6 month notice of my leave and were also provided with all medical documents from my doctor stating that I had to take a medical leave. I spoke with Human Resources and she informed me that they were letting me go because they wanted to hire somebody more efficient for the job. Also, when I spoke with my manager, she stated she received the email from corperate stating they were discharging me two weeks prior to when she actually told me. I have been jobless for 2 whole weeks and din't know it! Is there anything that can be done here?

Thanks!

Krystal
