landlords responsibility

what can i do about a landlord that will not fix things around my apartment. things like holes in the ceiling or windows that dont work properly or have broken hinges or gaps under the windows that are so big that bugs and thing can get in. i also have 2 outlets in my kids room that work when they want to

According to MCL 554.139, landlords must also keep the premises and all common areas fit for the use intended. These areas must be kept in reasonable repair and in compliance with applicable health and safety laws of the state and of the local unit of government.

Put your request in writing to him to prove your request and his noncompliance, then have an attorney write to or telephone him if he still ignores his responsibility.
