Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Michigan

Rental agreement changed for court

Is there any reason my ex landlord would have changed a rental agreement from 6 months to 12 months before submitting it to a judge during a court case? He also changed the rent amount from 1300 to 1100. I'm stumped as to why he would do that. I never received notice of the trial because he had notices sent to an old address even though I had given him a copy of my new address and phone number. He also had my direct work number and had even called me there.

Re: Rental agreement changed for court

Not knowing all facts, I can not think of any truly beneficial reason that he would make those changes. If notice was sent to an old address how did you receive it is a question and were you "served".
