Legal Question in Personal Injury in Michigan

i was in an motor vehicle accident the driver in the car in front of me slammed on his breaks causing me to rear end him no one was hurt but both vehicles are totaled and one of us dint have ins. are they liable for the cost of my car or the entire bill of the accident including tow bill cost of the value of the car? can someone help?
