Legal Question in Personal Injury in Michigan

Yesterday I was pulling out of the school parking lot when a truck smashed into the side of my car and left significant damage to my passenger side door and back door. I called a cop & he exchanged our info. This is her third accident at fault; So the question is how would I go about having her cover all the damages to my car? Would I have to take her to trial or would our insurances handle it? I have 3 witness reports coming in from people that seen the accident, as well as pictures. Also she was driving her boyfriend’s parent’s company truck, which the registered owner is the companys name and she is not listed on the insurance

You begin by contacting your own car insurance agent. The agent will handle the property damage claim for you. You might also have to deal with a mini-tort lawsuit for part of the damage.

All she is responsible for under Michigan No-Fault is $500.00 deductible, if you have one. Any excess damage should be handled by your insurance company. Welcome to No-Fault.
