Land contract

I signed a land contract but could not record it because of taxes owing so the owner quit claimed property to me since it was owned outright and it was recorded and put in my name,the owner recentley went to prison, can anyone(his family) enforce the land contract.He and I were the only parties involved.

If you have a quit claim deed for the property, this means that you have received whatever rights in the property that the grantor had.

The land contract is only enforceable by the parties to the contract. A party can grant a power of attorney to another party to act on their behalf. Without a power of attorney, no payment should be made to any third party.
