You don't say why you can't get the deed. Is it because you don't where to go to get a copy or because you never had one due to a land contract purchase or a quit claim deed that someone was supposed to record for your benefit? Or, did you inherit the property from a deceased relative?

I would guess that a local attorney would tell you what you need to do in a short consultation which will cost you little, if any, money.
