Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

Recently purchased a 40 acre property that is land locked. There is a county maintained road that ends 1320 feet from my property. The person that owns the property between my prop and the end of the 'road' has no interest in giving or selling me an easement. Is this a situation where I can be granted an easement of necessity by the court? If so, how difficult will this be and how expensive could it become?? - Brian

It is possible if you have absolutely no access to the road. It can be very difficult and expensive. I handled one last year and it was quite an experience. Tim Klisz kliszlaw.com
