Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

Tree branches over property line

Four pine trees form a partial boarder on one side of my property . Some branches have grown over into neighbors property by a few feet.

Can she cut them back or do I have to? Am I obligated to do this. She claims they interfer with her grass cutting.

Re: Tree branches over property line

If a tree is on or near the boundary and it's branches are encroaching onto the adjacent property, the adjacent property owner has the right to trim the branches, so long as the trimming does not harm/kill the tree. For more info, please contact my office at (248)851-3171.
