Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan

How does one end Social Security payeeship and regain control of one's monies.

My brother desires to end his Social Security mandated Representative payeeship and regain control of his check. His mental condition has improved to where he has been able to show the ability to manage his own affairs and money. How can he terminate this payeeship? Thank you for your assistance.

Usually he can just bring in a statement signed by a doctor that states the doctor has been working with him and feels he can now manage his own benefits.

SSA will usually change it without question if he has that. That is, unless SSA talks to him in the face to face interview and determine that they think he lacks the mental facilities necessary.
