Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan

Father died, put the house in my name before he died...

My father recently died. Before he died he put his condo in both my name and his in case anything happened to him because his second wife died a year ago. Can his second wife's kids come after me for 1/2 of the house even though it was put in my name?

A deed may be contested just like a will. However, his second wife's kids probably do not have the ability to contest the deed. Please contact me to discuss in more detail. johntatone.com

Probably not. If the house was joint with right with survivorship as to you and your father, then upon his death, all rights to the house are magically transferred into your name outside of probate.

If they could prove he was not of sound mind at the time, maybe, but if they're not even related to him (You don't say they're his kids, just his wife's kids), they don't really have any right to inherit anything from him other than what he would provide them in a will. This is based on the very limited information you provided, I'd suggest consulting with a probate attorney to ensure a more accurate answer based on knowing the full facts of the situation.
