Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan

Fathers trust

My father had a living trust. He died in 1992. My step-mother has pretty much depleted the funds and property out of the trust. My ex-husband is the executor. How do I know this has all been handled appropriately. There was a piece of property in Missouri in the trust that has been sold. My step-mother states she put down 50,000 to purchase it. HOwever, she and my father were married when the property was purchased. My ex-husband has not provided me with any information on the property as an executor. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Re: Fathers trust

You probably will have to take a look at the trust document to see if she is acting within her powers. She was probably given very broad powers. The only way to find out is to look. If she will not allow you to view it, see a probate lawyer who will take the steps necessary to get the document. William S. Stern
