Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan

My friend died without a will in Michigan. He has a house that he owed $48,000 on and I recently (2 months ago) singed a land contract on. The bank accounts I know of are $5000 or less. There is a safety deposit box with unknown contents. I am trying to assist his handicapped daughter who lives in Arizona in the care of his exwife. His brother wants nothing to do with anything. His half sister wants to keep everything from the daughter. He named his daughter 100% beneficiary of one of his investment accounts. How can I help his daughter or is this doomed to be an ugly probate?

If your friend was a MIchigan resident at the time he passed, I can help. Please con-tact me to discuss the details. If he is an Arizona resident and the house is in Michigan, I may still be of some assistance. 586-580-8850 or [email protected]
